Where To Find Your Camping Holiday

Where to Find Your Camping Holiday

Camper Van and Kayaks

If you’re like most Americans, then you’ve only got two to three—and, if you’re lucky, four—weeks of annual holiday vacation. Though camping holidays are one of the most sought after pastimes, most people are not sure where to go, what to see, or how to do it. This sort of furlough starts with an idea, grows into research and is finally implemented. Some of the best itineraries can take place in your own backyard (or close to it).

If you’re located more towards the Midwest or lower, then you can find camping paradise. Two of the most popular camping holidays commence in Arkansas. If you’re searching for high riding, fast churning rivers, with croppy escarpments, Arkansas river rafting will halt your camping vacation hunt. Whether paddling the Buffalo River or somewhere in between, Arkansas river rafting is still a hidden gem among ruffs for a perfect rafting and camping vacation.

If you’re into wet and wily, but still need something more north yet east, then your perfect camping holiday will begin and end in Maine. Kayaking in Maine, much to the surprise of the locals, is only recently been discovered. The Penobscot River, Pemaquid Lake or Biscay Pond takes kayakers on some of the best rapids and natural scenery this side of the Colorado River. Holiday camping is neither easier nor more remote than in Maine. Do load a durable kayak or rent one at one of the few shops.

Speaking of rafting, much ado about everything outdoors is Colorado. Colorado provides visitors with Colorado River rafting, kayaking, climbing, boating, mountain biking, ATV-ing, and so forth. A camping holiday is not only considered the best in the world, but your entire camping vacation will include something for all. Plus, since you’re out and about anyways, combine your river rafting camping vacation with some Colorado hiking vacations and you’ll enjoy the most supreme out-of-doors experience.

If the abovementioned camping vacations don’t entice you to bite the adventure hook, then don’t overlook Arizona. Arizona’s hiking trails, especially the possibilities provided by Grand Canyon hiking trips, are first- and world-class. However, getting lost in nature never was so easy, so bring a compass and map along. With the Paria Canyon Trail, or the South Kaibab Trail as leading examples, Arizona leaves the spin in spiny throughout these full- or multi-day hikes.

If all else fails, Yosemite National Park—though full all summer long with tourist—is worth the venture. A camping holiday with animals on seeming parade will surely be your experience here. If you’ve only got a few days and want the most action for your drive west, then Yosemite might hold some hitherto unbeknownst treasure for your discoveries and wild wonderings.
